Schluter DITRA – Uncoupling Membranes for Underfloor 3′ 3″ x 99′ 8″ = 323 SqFt
Effective Uncoupling and Stress Neutralization
Schluter DITRA are polyethylene uncoupling membranes with a grid structure of square cutback cavities and an anchoring fleece laminated to the underside. The open rib structure of DITRA allows for in-plane movement, effectively neutralizing the differential movement stresses between the substrate and the tile. This eliminates the major cause of cracking and delaminating of the tiled surface, ensuring a durable and long-lasting installation.
Versatile Functions for Tile Installations
When used in conjunction with tile coverings, DITRA serves as an uncoupling, waterproofing, and vapor management layer, while providing support and load distribution. These four essential functions enable successful tile installations over various substrates, including plywood/OSB, concrete, gypsum, and heated floors.
Minimized Thickness and Easy Transitions
DITRA has a thickness of 1/8″ (3.5 mm), which minimizes the overall tile assembly thickness and reduces transitions to lower surface coverings such as carpet, engineered wood, and vinyl. This ensures a seamless transition and a visually appealing finish. DITRA also allows for ceramic tile application over single-layer plywood or OSB subfloors on joists spaced up to 19.2″ (488 mm).
